Job Description
Again, there's not a real routine to this job--except that I come in early and try to leave before dinnertime. I don't really know what will come up in my day. So my only routine is coming into work in the morning, booting up my computer, and then leaving in the evening.
Pros
What I love most is the work environment. I can honestly say--without a single breath of hesitation--that I love and respect my coworkers and superiors. They not only are always willing to help and give everything they do 110%, but they are a great support system for me.
My bosses have done nothing but to encourage me and help foster my growth. They make sure I'm challenged everyday and learning something new everyday.
Besides all these factors, just working for such a big company is advantageous in itself. There are so many opportunities if you ever wanted to explore other arenas.
Finally, we have great benefits and programs. This place really knows how to cater to the employees. I feel like a person rather than another number in the employee database.
Cons
My job is not mundane, but not necessarily in a good way. It can get so overwhelmingly crazy at times. (The good thing about this is that I've become a masterful multitasker.) There's so much to manage and so much going on that it can be stressful.
My days are unpredictable which makes prioritizing tasks a little difficult. What you plan on getting done one day may not get done until the next week. This is why I tend to start working on projects AS SOON AS I know my deadline. It makes no difference whether the deadline is 1 day away or 1 month away. I need to always keep in mind that meetings will pop up, people will call, I will be sent out of the office for other business, etc.
The other con is that since I work with a lot of people in different time zones, even if I get in the office at 7am, I will have so many messages waiting for me. There is no advantage to being on PST. None.
