Job Description
Inside sales for a company that sold cell isolation technology to the public, private, and clinical sector. I'd obtain leads generated from the marketing department and cold-call prospects to generate appointments for outside sales reps to demonstrate and sell our product in labs across the nation.
Pros
Inside sales for a biotec company, so little travel required. But once a month, we would go on these great trips to different regions of the US and do some targeted marketing campaigns as well as outside sales with the other reps. We'd also go out and have a night on the town at the expense of our company, and we'd each get our own hotel rooms (who wants to bunk with a co-worker anyway??). Also got to work with bright, talented, exciting and motivated individuals.
Cons
Heavy phones, cold calling. Not much training for the position. No personal salesperson-to-customer interaction.
