Job Description
I work primarily in business development for a finance company. Work on bringing in new business, underwriting transactions with other sales people, and all aspects of logistics to get a transaction closed/funded. Also in charge of all marketing efforts for the company for a team of 6 sales people.
Pros
A lot of what makes this company really cool and fun is a result of the size and the entreprenurial spirit of the company. We are relatively young (age of most employee's between 20's - 40 something) which makes for a young, energetic, and cool corporate culture. Because of the flat organizational structure you definitely seen the impact of your contributions.
Top management is very acessible and its easy to make quick changes as necessary without getting bogged down in a lot of politics and red tape.
Cons
Smaller company = smaller budgets so that was an adjustment for me since I'd come from really big organizations. You definitely end up wearing more hats and doing a little of everything which can be a pain at times.
